Ireland’s Copper Coast is a stunning 25km of cliffs and headlands that runs from Dungarvan to Tramore, on the island’s south east coast. Copper mines, two hundred years old, are dotted along it.
Dungarvan Brewery’s Copper Coast Red Ale is a smooth, fruity Irish red ale with a distinct caramel character. Its unique taste is achieved by exploiting crystal malt in the brewing process. It also has a special hop balance, which offsets the sweetness of the caramel flavours.
In the glass, this ale presents as a cloudy copper colour with a persistent frothy white head. Fruity malty aromas are noticeable. On the palette, caramel, figs, biscuit and red fruits present themselves, with a herbal hop finish. Medium carbonation and an almost oily mouthfeel complete this very drinkable and refreshing red ale.
In traditional fashion, this craft ale is unfiltered, unpasteurised, and wheat-free. It’s bottle conditioned, and will improve during storage. You can expect to see some harmless yeast sediment at the bottom.
Brewed and bottled onsite in Co. Waterford, and under the watchful eye of the master brewer Cormac O’Dwyer, Copper Coast Red Ale is real Irish craft beer at its very best.
