8 Ball Rye IPA is just loaded with flavour. It’s a wondeful mash up of spicy rye, expertly brewed with zesty hops. This was one of Beavertown’s first craft beers, and it put them on the map as a creator of whopping IPA's. They stuffed this IPA full of rye and dry hopped it for days on end with American hops. Being old-school, the guys at Beavertown placed a handful of old pool balls on the hop sack to weigh it down in the vat as the beer gained flavour ... so now you know where the name comes from!
A beautiful bronze colour, a 1-finger head, and a gorgeous caramel and toasted bread aroma set this beer up for the true beer connoisseur. With modest hop bitterness on the back-end, this beer declares itself on the palate. A low level of carbonation allows for the beer's true flavour to shine through. The cara malts then release a confident and crisp mouthfeel to deliver a classic rye IPA.
