Beavertown was set up in December 2011 by Logan Plant. Logan was introduced to the American craft beer scene while touring with a band. He was so taken by the beer, that he left the band to form his own brewery. He first set up shop in the kitchen of his restaurant Duke’s Brew and Que, in De Beauvoir, Hackney, London. The brewery’s name comes from the old cockney word for this part of London, the historic De Beauvoir area which was famed for its rich characters and revelry in Victorian times. And from that old name, the phrase Beavertown Beers is now synonymous with great craft beer.

In 2013 Logan moved Beavertown from Duke’s Brew & Que and into a new brew site at Fish Island, East London. That meant lots more space to push the boundaries of brewing and create more exciting beers like 8 Ball Rye IPA and Black Betty Black IPA. However, demand for Beavertown beers was so great that in 2014 they had to move again to a far larger location at Tottenham Hale. Beavertown Brewery is regarded as being at the forefront of a niche movement that’s reviving London’s brewing industry.

Here's a video from the early days, just after Logan had moved Beavertown and its 25 litre batches out of his kitchen. They've gone from strength to strength since then!

Here's what's going on at Beavertown this week:
